I figured it's about time that we get one of these up here. I think the What's Next thread for ToH has worked pretty well to help communicate future plans, so I figured this would be a good area for us to discuss the same for ToV.
That said, I had some ideas for tonight:
I've been discussing with Muri about a development point for Yushu, that is probably better that we do sooner rather than later so the character can start to sorta graduate from the village idiot a bit. I figured this might be a good opportunity to get the cast involved in their first campaign battle. We need not go far–perhaps we just get stationed to help defend Gustaberg. I'm sure the cast's first experience getting thrown into a literal war would lead to some interesting character outcomes (such as the development plot point for Yushu).
Depending on the time remaining, we could then turn our focus to the Fourth mission line. If we run out of time, we would put off the missions until next week, unless anyone has something particular they'd like to do.
Keep in mind that the first Fourth quest is triggered by exiting Bastok after enlisting, and it'll look kinda urgent, too.
To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.
"What makes a strong character is how they deal with their flaws, their fears, their turmoils, their troubles that get in the way. That's what makes them relatable." – Doug Walker
I have two… or three… things to do so far. I think I've already discussed two of them, the third is a new one that popped up the other day. All should be relatively quick.
Also…
Please keep in mind that when we get to Windurst and start missions, skipping "Snake on the Plains" is recommended for anyone who does NOT want to switch their Campaign enlistment to Windurst. I don't know who's done what with Campaign ops/battles and medal progression on their own time, but switching enlistments does start to negatively impact your medal progression the more you do it. Initially, you just lose whatever work you've put into gaining your next medal, but eventually you do start losing your medals just by switching. Medals affect your Sigil (similar to Signet) effects and what items you can get from Allied Officers. And if you lose a medal, without first going out and grinding Ops and battles and having an evaluation to regain it, you -will not- receive the next medal from the Nation-quests*.
*This might not be mentioned in any guide/walkthrough, but I have first-hand experience with it. I didn't receive a new Starlight Medal from the quest when I started burning WotG for Lili's Trust because I had previously lost medals down to my Holyknight Emblem due to inactivity/missing evaluations, and then I didn't get my Moonlight Medal from the quests because I was still trying to re-earn my Starlight. I DID get a new Dawnlight from the quest after I took the time to regain my Starlight and Moonlight. So… just warning. If you lose a medal from inactivity/missing evaluations or changing enlistments, you will miss out if you don't re-earn that lost medal.
"Snake on the Plains", San d'Oria's "Steamed Rams", and Bastok's "The Fighting Fourth" are do-able and/or repeatable at any point, there is no worthwhile change in Mission/Nation-Quest dialogue (like, all that changes are the brief references to which military force you belong to in NPC dialogue), and completing the quests automatically change your enlistment – there is no way to opt out at completion. So I would very much suggest these quests are left to be done on an individual basis.
"How hard did you hit him?" "Quite hard, actually. For some reason he irritated me." They stared back to where the Grolim lay. "You're getting to be more like Belgarath every day," Silk told him. "You do more damage out of simple irritation than most men can do in a towering rage."

Tuesday has just turned into a VERY busy day for me – I have places to go and people to see and a whole lot of things to do. As of -right now-, the probability of me being around for the scheduled 7pm EST start-time is…. 25%. This goes up to, like, 95% the closer we get to 9:30/10pm EST, which is closer to the time we've actually been starting. But, there's also a chance that I'll be later than 10pm or just not be able to make it at all. I'll update as I know better, but that might end up being running updates Tuesday afternoon/evening.
If I end up being late-late or a complete no-show, I don't have a problem with y'all continuing and ghosting me. Just get me the log, and don't leave Windurst without me as there's a couple things I wanna do ICly there <_< If you do decide to wait for me, this would probably be a good time to backtrack and hit up any zones that you may not have visited yet, and then teleport around for Campaign Battles so you can accrue more Allied Seals.
ALSO…
There is a good chance that I will be tired Tuesday night…. meaning the possiblity of me being able to go until the wee hours of the morning isn't good. The two things I wanna do ICly on Tuesday, if we could do those first (provided, of course, that I don't end up missing) and then we can open it up for whatever, I'd appreciate it… I'm setting the stage for something later down the road >_>

On the ticket for next week is a trip to the nation of heroes and virtue.
Nah, just kidding, we're not going back to Bastok. San d'Oria is next.
So, I guess you can expect a lot of this, or something.
I will try to be on around 8ish for these, assuming I'm able to get out of work a little bit early. We'll see. I'll make sure Vina is prepped and ready beforehand, so hopefully we can log on and get right into making progress.
If anyone has any side plots to happen in San d'Oria or en route to the place, now would be the time to bring em up.
Alrighty, sooo.. throwing this out there way ahead of time so I don't forget. On the 17th of this month (which is a Thursday), I have an eye exam scheduled. It is actually for way earlier in the day than the scheduled start time, however there is a 50% chance that the doctor will dilate my eyes. My eyes have never reacted well to the solution that they use to do this, and I've been extremely light-sensitive for up to twelve hours afterwards before. Even when the sensitivity ends early (four hours being the fastest it's worn off), I typically have a fairly tenacious headache/migraine afterwards and sandpaper-feeling eyes the whole time. So that night, while I will be home, I have a fair chance of not being up to sitting in front of a screen for any amount of time.
If you guys wish to continue to whatever the next part would be and just ghost me that day, that's fine – mission stuff is stuff I can easily catch up on. If you wanna wait, that's your choice… I WOULD suggest that, if you decide to wait, you spend some time running some Campaign battles to get/keep up your ranks and get extra notes.

My laptop is, at this moment, dead. There is a plan to get me Ben's laptop in the next couple days, but… could be up until Monday before that's done. I'll update as things unfold… if I end up missing days… either ghost me or I'll come up with a reason why my characters aren't around

Ok, so no idea why it's doing this, but the game won't "appear" on my screen, despite my trying to change resolution and screen style (fullscreen, windowed, borderless windows)
so… since I can't even get the window to appear to log in, I can't play. I have no idea what to do, and restarting the computer didn't work.
