Hello, everyone. I'm Lindelle. Call me Lindy.

I've been roleplaying for about eleven years, but I'm an odd duck of sorts in terms of the Final Fantasy XI player base. I began playing the game about a year ago with the launch of the Seekers of Adoulin expansion and have leveled a few jobs to this level or that(my highest job at the moment is scholar at level sixty, but my intent is to main bard). I'm not on the Siren server at the moment; I began with a friend of mine on Odin and still reside there, but if roleplaying happens here and is open to newcomers, then I'll be transferring lickety-split.

Here are my questions.

1. Is this linkshell still active, and if so, is it recruiting?
2. Would the members of this linkshell be willing to help me out as I level and progress through the stories that you all aren't roleplaying through right this moment?
3. Would Siren's Sword benefit from the addition of a perky, eccentric Elvaan bard?

I really hope that I'm not committing a massive breach of etiquette by posting here. If I have, then I deeply apologize. However, I'm very eager to see about getting into some roleplaying in the Final Fantasy XI universe. I really hope we can work and play together!

Heya! In the middle of something at the moment, so I'll answer quickly.

1) We are still active, however our numbers have dwindled down to a membership of four (with a larger cast of alts). This often makes for the non-scheduled RP days to be quite quiet, though a couple of us can be on/around at almost every time if asked.

2) Yes, provided that we have the jobs/muscle to do so. Even at 99, some fights can be tricky because of healing/stunning requirements… healing tending to be the thing we're light on.

3) Ohdeargodsweneedperky! Right now, Aht Urghan is just chewing up the current cast and making their lives miserable. This trend should get better in time, but 'happy' is not a normal emotion for the cast right now and you're likely to be dealing with a bunch of grumpy people ICly (OOCly, we're pretty decent).

If you have more questions, keep posting them up!

When the hero enters to kill me, I will ask him to first explain to my grandchild why it is necessary to kill her beloved grandma. When the hero launches into an explanation of morality way over her head, that will be her cue to pull the lever and send him into the pit of crocodiles. After all, small children like crocodiles almost as much as Evil Overlords and it's important to spend quality time with the grandkids.

"How hard did you hit him?"
"Quite hard, actually. For some reason he irritated me." They stared back to where the Grolim lay.
"You're getting to be more like Belgarath every day," Silk told him. "You do more damage out of simple irritation than most men can do in a towering rage."

… healing tending to be the thing we're light on.Draenen Wen

I've only ever enjoyed healing/support roles in MMOs. Final Fantasy XI is no different.

The biggest problem I have in terms of my character's history is that without any previous roleplaying to establish her, all I know is that 1) she's generally upbeat and perky, which is unusual for an Elvaan, and 2) she almost certainly identifies as a pacifist and dislikes involving herself in violent conflict. With that said, if I can just play scholar and focus on that, you all might be seeing me VERY soon. I know scholars can stun, but can scholars heal?

I don't have very much party experience. In fact, I have almost none. Because of that, I think I can tailor my character, to an extent, to fit the party's needs. With that in mind, I think I'm going to go ahead and transfer. You'll see a formal application from me within the next few days! Please look forward to it!

Hey there, hey there~

We're definitely still active, and the schedule that you see here is more or less the one that we keep to–about twice a week, but tends to be for a good solid chunk of time (4-6 hours). You don't have to come for all of that if you are too busy, and sometimes people continue RPing way past that point. It's pretty much what you make of it.

While healing is the thing that we're lightest on, with the current level of content that we're doing, not having a dedicated healer isn't killing us. So definitely don't feel pressure to take on that role for us. That said, you asked if Scholar can heal, and it definitely can. Later on, it gets some really powerful and potent regen effects that are infinitely useful. I wouldn't say a lack of party play experience is a dealbreaker anymore–the game has become a lot more lax and casual and honestly as it is I think we pretty much overkill everything lol.

Also, we are sort of split between this game and FFXIV, with another linkshell with pretty much the same people here. That said, I think that ToV gets more RP action currently–XIV RPs tend to be spontaneous, these ones tend to be regularly scheduled, etc. That said, we may not always be in FFXI doing things–but GW is a great way to keep in contact. If you want to plan to get some content done and we aren't in FFXI at the time, track us down on here–feel free to send us all private messages if we aren't online here, as well. A private message turns into an e-mail which usually alerts our phones.

But yes! This sounds exciting–definitely let us know when you have transferred over so one of us can get you the pearl!

Well, I've finished my transfer, but I won't be active on the server for a few days. Is there any problem at all in arranging a meeting on Monday afternoon, say at noon Eastern time?

I will be at work during that time, but I bet someone will be able to be on. :)

I can be around for that, provided I'm not in a place that has bad signal (I travel almost constantly, and there's places in the country that are dead zones for data connection). If you don't see me, just send me a PM here on the forums and it'll ring my phone.
