This forum has not been used for a while apparently, so I suppose it's time to kick off some dust from it and introduce myself!

I'm a new recruit, and new to FF11! In game I'm known as Ryeastorsair, though my character's name as far as in-character information goes is Rye Astorsair. I'm a veteran roleplayer, however - having roleplayed in various games such as Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2, World of Warcraft, Champions Online, The Secret World, and both FF14 1.0 and ARR (And if people are curious, on FF14 I'm on Balmung as Nathalanee Reinhart). I've just started playing FF11, but so far very much enjoying the game, and finding the challenge of working around the mechanics and figuring things out for myself to be actually pretty fun for a change.

Out of game, I'm a hobbyist writer currently working on writing a novel, but working full time as a labourer in an oil and gas equipment manufacturing company. I'm hoping to be an electrician, however. I'm also a huge gaming geek (and have a habit of collecting relatively modern consoles - I have a 3DS, a Vita, a 360 (which I play FF11 on sometimes), a PS3 (which I play FF14 on when my computer isn't working right), and a PS4 along with my PC), and a bit of a music and reading nut as well.

What does that have to do with FF11? No clue. But there it is. :D All in all, I'm excited to find a roleplay group in FF11, and am hoping to soon be able to roleplay with you all if nothing else.

*Sweeps away the dust mites.*

Hello hello!

We're definitely very glad to have you! As you could see from our recruitment, it has been a bit since someone came poking around looking for an FFXI RP linkshell, lol. We could definitely use the addition of a new roleplayer on the scene!

Feel free to poke around and ask us any questions, if you should have any. We are a very friendly bunch. I think you will find Vana'diel to be a great place to RP… its almost ridiculous how much lore this game is packed with, haha!

Welcome, fellow writer! Hope to see you in action soon. Let us know if you need any help!
To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.

"What makes a strong character is how they deal with their flaws, their fears, their turmoils, their troubles that get in the way. That's what makes them relatable." – Doug Walker
