If you have issues and take offense with me posting my opinion when I'm taking a break, then I can bow out and leave you to your discussion.

Regardless - there's going to be a lot of hub bub over Adoulin for a while. It is a large expansion, not just a little add on. There may be a lot of focus on it, especially at first. But be patient, cause it'll die down. If anything, Adoulin might bring more focus back to the main RP, if you don't go excluding members, and make it excruciatingly difficult for them, especially if they have one of the new jobs.Saerun

I don't think I ever wrote anywhere that I'm offended or anything… When I mentioned your break I was just pointing out that I'm aware it's a break, and that you aren't 'just ditching' as you might've read my words hadn't I specified of my awareness on your case. I respect your opinion as anybody else's, and I'm sad to see after such a long time playing together you still get so easily offended by what I write. I thought that issue was sorted out last time we had talked about it.

I may be too blunt or maybe am guilty of talking too openly, but if I do it it's just because I was taught that friends are people that can be trusted and to which I can say how I feel without fear of having to pay for my tone or my honest feelings. If you think I should be more reserved on what I think and treat this LS as a workplace, then I'll apologize. I thought I was in another kind of group.
To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.

If you two want to fight, I'll get the Jello and Bikinis ready later, but for right now we've got serious business to attend to.

The (S) stuff fell on its face for the same reason we lost people between the CoP and ToAU transition. People need a unified goal, and socials absolutely cannot carry a lot of people. I'm fine with it, but if 'nothing's happening' people drop out. If we do the missions over there, we'll have something to unify us and not have the 'I don't have an IC reason to be there' issue. I'm suggesting playing the missions, even if we alter the story somewhat.

If we don't want to do the missions and still decide to do a side RP, we'll need to come up with something. Whether we have a villain in our own ranks (There would be PvP, so probably not this), or what have you.

I think Pioneering and exploration alone would do give plenty of points to develop plots of our own, especially if we don't pretend we can cross an area in 5 minutes.

You're right, I misread what you said, and I apologize for that, KJ.

A villain of sorts could be interesting on the side. The problem lies on the fact that we really don't have any idea on what the mission line will look like in terms of characters, plot or what have you. Just playing out theissions might be a good way to start, and we can branch out with other stories and such from there.

I haven't RP'd in a long while (after coming back from break) because I'm waiting for the cast to get back to AU… I didn't expect the trip to Bastok to be soooo long. I understand that there were scheduling conflicts that lead up to it taking a number of weeks…

Back to Adoulin though… It's a big expansion. I imagine that if we do get any new RPer's, they might want to RP in the new areas. The fact that it is renewing some interest in current members should be reason enough, shouldn't it?

If it is so unwanted, though… it could be kept out of LS chat. Which I think would be a bigger problem for the LS as a whole?

While a plan was made back when the LS was formed to do the expansions in a certain order, times have changed… membership has changed… It was never suggested to replace current RP at all, it was suggest to be just a side RP with completely new characters on an off day so as not to interfere with the main storyline.

I think we're beyond the debate over whether or not to do it, and didn't necessarily mean for the discussion to come off in a way that made it seem like we were voting yay or nay on this; I don't think that this would hurt the group and I think that if some people want to do this, by all means they should be able to do it here. The alternative is that people would just do it anyways on their own, or even form a new linkshell where they would roleplay this out. I don't think anyone really particularly wants that.

As with the Untold Stories of the Shadowreign Era, though, I would like those interested in the idea to coordinate the time to meet amongst themselves and let me know and we'll get it up on the calendar. I think Aurou had suggested Thursday night? I can't promise I'll be able to attend many if any of these, like the Shadowreign era RPs, but please don't take this to mean I'm not in support of the idea. Its just already a bit of a struggle to attend the main cast ones.

I think if those interested decide that it's a completely side RP that doesn't have any bearing on the main ToV story, that its fine that people do the missions and even adopt different rules if they would like. If the group decides to make it a potential tie-in though, we'd need to talk more about the specifics.

I know I haven't been around really lately for various reasons… but is anyone else still interested in doing this?

It would be one evening a week, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.. whatever works best for those interested. Since there really aren't many missions out right now, there isn't much to debate about them. Reives, exploring, random city life, etc. would be the focus for now. All characters would be completely new and exclusive to this side RP. Jobs and travel within the Adoulin region would be unrestricted.

Exact rules would be open for discussion… the above is just an idea to get things rolling.
