Knowing the life she would suffer, Nathaniel stole her away the night they were to be married. The roamed from one continent to the other, evading capture from Gyle with the help of other Dark Knights who held Nathaniel in high regard, until they were finally able to settle in the outskirts of Rolandberry Fields. Here, they lived many happy years together, making a living off of a small winery they built and having their frist child, Dimitius, born in 860 C.E.

But not all was at peace.

Gyle, outraged at the insult of being robbed of his bride and rite, set it upon himself to find everyone who helped Nathaniel and layed them to waste as he gathered information of his where-abouts. And in 862 C.E., hidden within the calamity that was the Great War, he fell upon Nathaniel's little winery. The two did battle but Gyle has had years of preperation while Nathatniel had grown soft, easily besting the once former great warrior. Before delivering the final blow he pulled out Charlotte from the winery, raping her violently before killing her slowly before a broken Nathaniel.

Nathaniel did not die that night, though he did beg for it until his vocal cords strained to the point that they tore irrivocably. Gyle imprisioned him at his estate, letting him know that his son Dimitrius was alive and unharmed. Then a smile ripped accross his face as he told Nathaniel that he would raise him as his own to become a great Dark Knight worthy of the name Depardue.

Hidden away from the war, most of the estate was torn from the fires and balista except for the underground areas where Gyle and Dimitrius lived and the prison.

Once old enough Dimitius began his training under Gyle, but he was now called Seraphaelle. The years passed and training intensified and every day thrice a day Seraphaelle would be sent to the underground prison to serve the bloodied man his rations of grool and water. The man, once known as Nathaniel, tried to talk to his sone but only wind and gutteral noises would be audible.

Tears would fall from their eyes. The man living a torment that should only be reserved for those like Depardue. Seraphaelle would cry to see a man so depraved and mistreated he couldn't believe anyone should be treated like this.

One day during a late meal Seraphaelle worked up the nerve to ask his "father" Gyle what the bloodied man did to deserve such unethical treatment. Gyle then stood from his position at the end of the table and made his way to Seraphaelle. He looked at him smiling, then ,without warning, slammed and kept his head pressed on the table.

"That creature is a lustful thief that took everything from me and now he will be made to suffer!" Gyle exclaimed, adding "You are no longer to go down there!"

Seraphaelle had enough of his father's temper, hate, and way of thinking. He was already planning on leaving to see the world and try to escape his "father" but this was the last straw. But before he left he had to see the bloodied man once more. He took parchment and a charred piece of wood from the fireplace in his room and proceeded down to the prison unoticed.

Opening the cell, Seraphaelle motioned to the man to keep quite and come to him. He gave him the parchment and charred wood. Nathaniel began to cry, grasped the wood with his broken hand and wrote:

"U r my sn. he take u frm us. klt mom. mad me wach. U R MY SON I LOVE YOU"

Nathaniel's hand broke from the pressure of writing.

Seraphaelle helped him by bracing the hand in a makeshift splint. His heart sank at the sight, but then looked into the bloodied man's eyes and saw happiness.

Nathaniel had not seen his son in years. What had come down was a stranger looking at a stranger. But now, Nathaniel is seen as a father by a person who recognizes himself as his son.

Nathaniel presses his chest, opens his mouth, and out of his throat a whisper is heard saying "…nate…". Points to Seraphaelle and proceeds to whisper "…Di…mi…tri…"

Stopped abruptly by a shadow figure, Seraphaelle is smacked asside.

It was Gyle and he has his blade aimed straight at Nathaniel.

Seraphaelle yells at Gyle to stop, but it is too late. Nathaniel has been run through. But before he dies he looks at Seraphaelle one last time, smiles and mouths the phrase "i love you" before he is torn in half by Gyle's bare hands.

"So now you know, you sniveling little wurm!" Gyles looks at Seraphaelle with a burning hate.

"I'll eviscerate you!!!" Seraphaelle screamed, returning the burning hatred.

"Guards! Take Seraphaelle to Ghelsba Outpost. We'll finish this farce there" Gyle's orders echo in the room.

Seraphaelle proceeds to kill the guards one after another until he is overwhelmed and appreheded. Before he is knocked out he yells back at Gyle "My name is Dimitri"

Awaken many hours later, he finds himself in the middle of a clearing nude with his gear in a bundle to the left of him.

"Finally, you're awake. I've been waiting for you" Gyle looks at him yawning. "Your father was such a pathetic rival that I simply had to raise you to be better to take his place as a worthy fight. Now be quick with your preperations."

Confused but ready to finish what has been unfolding for 28 years behind his back, Dimitri allows one of the guards to ready himself.

Now, he faces the truth. Not only the truth of the his situation, but the truth of the world. The truth that nothing happens for a reason, all is chaos, and people like Gyle will do anything to get his way. That meant that people like Dimitri and Nate have to do anything and everything to stop people like Gyle.

"Depardue!!! You will fall…" and with that, the battle ensues.

For what seemed like hours they have at each other with hatred in their hearts and blood on their minds and hands, their souls tarnished to the point of damnation. Slashing, gouging, stabing, and pounding, it was a miracle either of them drew breath. They raised such a comotion that the beastment that had made Ghelsba Outpost their base of operations came flooding from their huts to attack them.

Seeing this they both began to run towards West Ronfaure to escape, but they still slashed at each other. Every hit the beastmen grew closer and closer. Then Dimitri thought to break Gyle's leg and proceeded to swing his blade to the frond of Gyle's knees, dropping him and giving Dimitri the lead to escape. As he looked back he saw the beastmen savagly tear at Gyle Depardue.

Now all that was left was to escape, but Dimitri did not pay attention to where he was running and ended up going over a small drop, landing with a thud and slamming his face unto a tree.

He came to the sounds of children screaming. making his way to his feet he tried to gather his thoughts, only to realize he had no recolection of who he was and why he was here. He looked around and grabbed his blade, then he made his way to the screams. He didn't know why but he felt as if it was his duty to investigate and help.

Entering the hut, he killed the beastmen that were holding the kids hostage, then the children lead him to San d'Oria.

Prince Trion of San d'Oria congratulated him in rescuing the children and asked for his name.

He didn't know what to say. He couldn't remember it, but he didn't want to seem disrespectful to the prince.

One of the children seeing that he was troubled tugged at him. He looked to see that the boy pointed at the blade. There was a name…

Verrrrrry dark, but I also see a lot of deep workings here. :) It will be really fun to watch this character unfold. I think this is very well done.

The only bit I might suggest adding is an explanation as to how the Hume family came to power in the nation of San d'Oria. The Elvaan there dominate the nation and are pretty much racist to all the outsiders (the races of other nations aren't fond of each other, either). Elvaan are traditionally against Humes in particular, only hating the Tarutaru more. So Humes would be an uncommon group to have an estate for from… unless Gyle were to, for example, be an Elvaan. That's not to say its impossible by any means though for a Hume to grow rich in San d'Oria through trade, etc.

Overall though it isn't the huge thing and as the profile is, I believe, is well done. :) Now to get you into the roleplay!

Thanks Avian!

To further clarrify and not disrupt the read:

All are hume.
There is no prominence held for anyone in San d'Oria, Nathaniel and Charlotte only met there.
The location of the estate is not given. (I don't yet know where to put it, sorry)

I was talking to Kenjii and I think I will be unfolding Seraphaelle's story through memoirs in the fanfic section. Here I will expound on his early years and past our adventures.

Thanks for the advice!

Continuation of Seraphaelles Torment:

Weeks had passed and still his memories elude his mind.

Within these weeks he is cared for by the family of one of the children until his wounds healed. Once he was healthy he was sent to the residentual area of South San d'Oria to locate his new home which was given to him by Halver by order of Prince Trion.

Upon opening the door he heard an odd voice.

Caught unaware, he readied himself with drawn blade, ready to strike. He yells out "Who is it that has trespassed in this house?"

The voice replies, "I am Clifford, a nomad moogle that has taken up the task of becoming the keeper of your house." He continues, "It was I who found you and tried to wake you from your slumber. You ran off to help those children without even noticing me."

Perplexed, he remembers Prince Trion saying something about a helpful surprise when he arrived at his new home, so he goes with Clifford's story.

They aquaint each other with one another for the better part of the hour, then begin to talk about the finances of the house. Clifford hints at the fact that Seraphaelle should use his skills as a freelance soldier for the citizens of San d'Oria.

At first, the idea doesn't sound to great to him, but he seeks answers to many questions that plague him. Figuring that this line of work would have him exploring many different locations and meeting many different people, he reluctantly accepted the logical fact that his new keeper was right. It was one of these jobs that lead him to a group called Siren Sword.

The work that he had been doing was barely enough to get by, but he needed more. He thought to apply with the group to gain more notoriety, jobs, money, and information.

Meeting with the leader of the group, Avina proceeded to explain the objective of the group to him. By the end of the meeting Seraphaelle decided to apply, and shortly thereafter was accepted, what would seem reluctantly, by the group.

It was here that he received his first job. To enter within the craigs that are found around the lands and investigate. Eager to show that he belongs to this group to earn their trust, he prepares his body and his mind to be at the disposal of the group. But upon entering the first craig a sense of uneasiness crashes over him, causing him severe pain in his head and heart.

The pain quickly subsides and he returns to his wits, but now he finds that he sees himself. It is as if he was outside of his body, when in fact he was trapped within his mind, fully aware of himself but unable to act upon his knowledge. What seemed to be acting as him was empty, a husk of a body, void of a soul.

Upon completion of there first task he returns to his old ways, but the others are weary of his action. He does not want to be let go so quickly upon his addition to the group so he focuses himself on the here and now to hopefully stay within control for the rest of the mission.

The following craigs find him in control of his body, but not his emotions. This causes him to have immense hatred towards his foes and a sorrow that to this date still eludes him as to it's source.

At the end of the job he returns home completely fine. He doesn't have another episode of what befell him inside the craigs. He enters his home and greets Clifford.

As he is helped out of his armor everything suddenly turns dark. All the light is wisked away by a bitter frozen gale and Seraphaelle is left in pure darkness by himself. He sees no one and hears nothing. Suddenly there is a whisper.

"Do you know of us?' a voice asked.

"Where are you?" exclaimed Seraphaelle. "Show yourself to me, coward!"

A different voice whispers "He cannot comprehend us yet"

The first voice replies "He is not ready yet"

"I grow tired of this! Come out and make yourself known t… ugh…" Seraphaelle suddenly feels a pain and falls to the ground, face first, unconscious.

At this time, no amount of time had passed in reality. Everything that occurred was in his mind in a fraction of a second. So when Seraphaelle collapsed, it took Clifford by surprise. He rushed to his master's aid.

Neither of them knew it at the time, but this night would be the night their sorrow was born. And their sorrow is a great and terrible beast that spares no one. It's claws, unescapable; it's apetite, insatiable.

By the end, the cries of mercy shall fall on deaf ears, for none shall be saved.
