Summary: In the Middle Lands… Snow has started to fall on Quon and Mindartia, and the Starlight Festival came with it! Kicked out of his own place by the usual stroppy Moogle, Kenjii stands in the busy square, glaring at goblin merrymakers and children alike as they enjoy the festivity, as he only waits for the opportunity to get back home and warm up by the chimney. Muriru passes by, enjoying the Bastokan decorations, so different from what she had been used to see.
Sometime later, Avina rushes outside, fully charged with Starlight spirit and determined to bring smiles and cheers throughout the nation, also psyched in an all-personal battle against the Salaheem's Sentinels efforts to hire adventurers even during the holidays. As she finds Kenjii, as every year, she's quick to force him into the Dream suit, with the help of some unnatural mog sack filled with things and BEINGS that even Kenjii dreads of. After that, the poor man is helplessly dragged around from festival game to game. During the crusade, the two oddly stumble into Burald, poorly yet surely dressed himself in Starlight attire, as he brings –- no, forces –- cheers and joy into the children with full devoted rage. Avina is only delighted at that sight, and the two challenge on who would first complete the Orchestrion, a rather complicated mechanism given as a reward by the smilebringers' games this year.
The task is eventually completed, and Avina runs to her Mog House to put up the strange machine and get it to work. On the way, she drags Saerun and later Aurou as well to assist her. After some struggles, the girls manage to get the music box to work, much to Kenjii's displeasure, and get on rambling about which music is better. After some discussion about Aurou and Nodem and their past, Avina notices in horror that the Siren's Sword board went missing from her Mog House.
The finger is quickly pointed at Kenjii, who immediately gets defensive, and as the horrible liar he is, he practically admits of being responsible of the board's … boardnapping? He is rather reluctant on telling of the holy relic's whereabouts, but Avina ultimately physically assaults him for it, and he gives up and takes her and the other girls to where the board was brought. It's a dusty, old discarded Mog House, that Kenjii reveals to have been negotiating for with the MHMU, to be the Siren's Sword's new headquarters. The group is rather shocked at that revelation, not as much as the fact that Kenjii bought them a house, as at the fact that Kenjii did something nice to begin with. Luckily, the man is too busy staring at some creeping galkan mannequin left in a corner to really mind the rather insulting comments of surprise. Everyone seems happy of the gift, and immediately start to talk and propose on which changes and fixes should be implemented. Sounds like the Siren's Sword is getting back to work! Only Kenjii seems reluctant at immediately starting the restoration, as he mentions several times that he still hasn't finished paying for the place.
Meanwhile, in Aht Urhgan…
To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.
"What makes a strong character is how they deal with their flaws, their fears, their turmoils, their troubles that get in the way. That's what makes them relatable." – Doug Walker
