RP type: Social

Date: Saturday 24th November, Sunday 25th November

Active Attendees:
Draenen
Kenjii
Kirious
Mirror
Muriru

Summary:
Two weeks have passed since the last sightseeing of Veeviriri and the Old Man. As the members of Siren's Sword start to grow impatient, Kenjii finally agrees that the danger may for now have passed, and agrees to leave Norg. Avina goes ahead, as the ninja makes sure everyone is warned about the decision made. Kenjii ultimately meets Gilgamesh and thanks him for giving the Siren's Sword protection and helping out with the investigations regarding their yet rather unknown enemy.

Kenjii then leaves town along with Muriru, determined to still keep an eye on her as she seems to be the main target of the dreaded witch. Together the two journey to Bastok, with some troubles because of Kenjii's missing documents.

At the same time around Nashmau, Kirious and Draenen are hunting for food as they look for hints about Draenen's sister whereabouts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kenjii and Muriru arrive at late night in Bastok. Muriru finds out she lost her job, and that her Mog House has turned into a sort of Meg's Shrine in the meanwhile. The ninja instead decides to book a room at the Bat's Lair until the next day.
The day after, Mirror shows up at the Inn, immediately unleashing Kenjii's irritation as he seems to not be carrying the long-awaited fresh new Mog House Pass that was sent to his address (since Kenjii couldn't give any other). He says the document is in Peb's hands (however, he was kind enough to still give Kenjii the empty envelope…), and there will stay until Kenjii retrieves it personally. As they walk, the two stumble into Muriru, and Kenjii is quick to get rid of her by snapping a random training order. Oddly enough the Tarutaru complies without a word, leaving the two rather astonished. Mirror quickly comes to the conclusion that Muriru is under Kenjii's training, and the ninja helplessly tries to deny the facts. As he rambles random excuses, words about his special 'deal' with Avina slips out, and the hume runs off flustered.
Mirror goes on the chase, only to cause Kenjii to become more and more defensive, up to the point where he uses words that seem to deeply hurt the bard. After that, Kenjii also takes the chance to scold Mirror for not having followed Draenen as she left the continent. The two then separate in a rather harsh way. Kenjii finally goes home with his new pass, and Mirror storms off of town, unknowingly chased by a concerned Muriru. Meanwhile, Kenjii also checks on Draenen via linkshell, however the conversation seems rather disturbed by static noises.
Muriru watches Mirror enter the Ordelle's Caves, muttering some kind of plea by himself and scream in distress as he snaps a strange amulet off his neck. The Tarutaru reveals her presence, and comforts Mirror, even though the young man seems not willing to reveal the true reasons of his despair. As she cheers him up and tries to convince him to forgive Kenjii's behavior, Muriru meets for the first time the mysterious Farseer.
The cloaked man admonishes Muriru against Mirror, implying the bard to be betraying her trust, and that she would better keep distance from him, as he's bound to have no friends. The Tarutaru bravely counters the man's words, and after a long talk seems to convince him to leave Mirror alone, at the price of something the Farseer calls 'a debt'. Mirror thanks Muriru for her care, but seems still troubled about the conversation with his mentor.
After the Farseer disappears, the two slowly head back to Bastok.
To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.
"What makes a strong character is how they deal with their flaws, their fears, their turmoils, their troubles that get in the way. That's what makes them relatable." – Doug Walker
Saturday, away from the main group…
Finding that the little port town they had landed in had few supplies, Kirious and Draenen venture outside the walls on a hunting trip. The hazy, damp forest at first seems much like anything they would have encountered back in the Middle Lands; the further they venture, though, the more they start to notice differences in plant and animal life.
They eventually enter a clearing and, on the far side, they catch their first glimpse of something that truly is alien to them: a woman who, from the waist down, has the body of a snake. Kirious knocks the creature out and finds a key on it, and then turns to Draenen and asks if they should leave the creature to wake up on its own or kill it. Reasoning that the creature looked intelligent, that it wasn't the only one of its kind, and remembering the peaceful little beastmen that inhabited the port town, Draenen opts for leaving the creature to wake up; killing it might cause some sort of incident. Kirious quickly stages the scene to look like an accident, and the two return to their hunting.
When they return to the port town, Kirious goes to find Raka to question her, leaving Draenen to figure out what sort of food could possibly be made with a couple emaciated birds, some eggs,two slabs of sheep meat, a few handfuls of nuts, and some imp wings…
When the hero enters to kill me, I will ask him to first explain to my grandchild why it is necessary to kill her beloved grandma. When the hero launches into an explanation of morality way over her head, that will be her cue to pull the lever and send him into the pit of crocodiles. After all, small children like crocodiles almost as much as Evil Overlords and it's important to spend quality time with the grandkids.
"How hard did you hit him?"
"Quite hard, actually. For some reason he irritated me." They stared back to where the Grolim lay.
"You're getting to be more like Belgarath every day," Silk told him. "You do more damage out of simple irritation than most men can do in a towering rage."
