(OOC: Apologies for the delay with this, Nodem. Meant to get this out a lot earlier, but was a crazy week. Will convert to an image later)

Sergeant Losreix,

My name is Avina Burkhardt, of Bastok, and I am writing in regards to the recent knowledge that one of my past companions, the knight known as Ryder, has gone missing while in service to you. He often spoke well of you and the training that you had given him.

Ryder's disappearance marks a very disturbing trend in my adventuring company's recent history. He is not the first adventurer with associations to us to have vanished suddenly without a trace. Two of our other companions vanished not too long ago–and although we received a letter from them indicating that they are okay, their absence still weighs us down with worry for their safety. The only information we have in regards to their capture is that it was done by a man who signed off his letters to us as 'D.' We know that he is dressed in what some described as foreign gear, colored blue, with a wicked looking gold sword. We had, regretfully, thought Ryder to be the one known as D, especially in how he had Sobe and Aurou's linkpearls stuffed in his sack after he returned from being knighted… I cannot know how he came into possession of those, but I know this 'D' and Ryder cannot be the same… my wyvern does not smell the same shadow of intent on Ryder that was cast upon the letters that this 'D' wrote…

I am very concerned for Ryder's well being. In an unfinished letter to me, he indicated that he had been trying to find Sobe and Aurou. Sadly he did not finish the letter, but I am worried that he may have reached for something dangerous. Is there any information you can give me about he was doing before he vanished? Where he was, anything you know about his own personal search for Sobe and Aurou? I only ask of this information with his safety in mind.

Sincerely,

Avina Burkhardt
