So I decided to post this stuff up for everyone to look at and read over. These are some of the translated materials given to me by Elmer the Pointy, from http://www.jpbutton.com. He didn't tell me to not show others these documents so I figured I'd post them, I just want to make sure he gets 100% credit for all the work done here, and maybe give his website a click too.

All this information comes from an art book that was only released in Japan, and contained a lot of the ancient history and hidden details of Vana'diel. I figured I'd post it for IC knowledge purpose but keep in mind, some of this stuff is so old that no one may remember it IC.

This is all his formatting and all his presentation. Unfortunately he never posted it to his own site. If he does post it to his own site this post will be removed and replaced with a link to his site, and it will also be removed by personal request (if he asks me to)



Experts in curing and healing magic, White Mages provide the perfect support for a party. They also excel in close combat, but are forbidden to wield any bladed weapons.



ヒーラーダックビル – Healer’s Duckbills
The toes of these leather boots are rounded, resembling a duck’s bill. The heels are made of wood, making it easy to traverse even the roughest terrain.

ヒーラーキャップ – Healer’s Cap
This thick hood covers the entire head around the face. It is accented with red lines, which are thought to represent the blood that flows through all living things.

ヒーラーパンタロン – Healer’s Pantaloons
These uniquely shaped trousers have a widened cuff at the bottom. The thighs of the pantaloons fit snugly as silk tights, while below the knee they become more like spats.

ヒーラーブリオー – Healer’s Briault
A “briault,” is like a long tunic made of thick garment, onto which large cuffs and a skirt is sewn. Mithra alter them slightly by wearing the rear pouch on the front.

ヒーラーミトン – Healer’s Mitts
These specially consecrated mittens are made of silk, with an inner padding of cotton. They have a scarlet lining, and the cuffs are bonded with beautiful embroidery made from golden thread.

イルクイル – Iru-Kuiru




Iru-Kuiru was the former head of the Rhinostery in Windurst. As a member of the multi-national expedition to the North thirty years ago, he travelled to the Northern lands alongside Cornelia and Raogrimm. Iru-Kuiru was a famous White Mage, and scholar of all living things. However, at the same time, his research was gaining the attention of those working in the Rhinostery. After reports from Iru-Kuiru stopped coming in, it was apparent he had met his end. The current head of the Rhinostery, Rukususu, decided she must continue his research by investigating the area in which her beloved teacher had vanished. What had Iru-Kuiru seen there? And what of his research?

能力 – Abilities



女神の祝福 – Benediction
A secret ability that all White Mages can use, Benediction calls forth a blessing from the Goddess that instantly heals the wounds of your comrades. The effect is tremendous, but if used during a fight, there are more than a few times when the White Mage ends up sacrificing themselves for the good of the party.

女神の印 – Divine Seal
Binding a holy seal to your next White Magic spell will increase its power.

オートリジェネ – Auto Regen
White Mages that become specialist in healing magic and able to perpetually heal themselves.

レイズ – Raise
This White Mage spell can revive those who are defeated in battle. Higher ranks of Raise require great focus from even the utmost of the divine, and therefore can only be utilized by a White Mage.

武具 – Weapons and Armor



アルカナブレイカー – Arcana Breaker
To the untrained eye, this looks like a simple bronze warhammer, but there is actually a powerful magical substance melded into the head. Because of this, when you strike a magical being, it damages their very essence.

ミステルテイン – Mistilteinn
Legend says this rod crafted from mistletoe once belonged to Lanfeaur d’Oraguille, the founder and first King of Sand’Oria. However, its whereabouts today are unknown. It is said that those who possess this wand are granted extra wisdom and intellect.

In the year 381, Lanfeaur travelled alone to Beadeaux for an audience with the Quadav King, Du’Dha the Everyoung. He went to propose an alliance between to the two nations, but whatever he promised as collateral has been lost in the pages of history. He shared a glass of “Mudwine,” a favorite drink of the Quadav that while disgusting for humans, he managed to down with a smile. This act quickly gained him the favor of the king.
The next year, Windurst’s conquest army began invading the continent of Quon. The Quadav King upheld his promise and engaged the Windurstian forces, ultimately repelling them.

アスクレピオス – Asklepios
Healers everywhere speak of this legendary rod. It is said that this rod grants you the power to exchange your health for greater healing potency. The head of the rod represents a Caduceus, which is a symbol of everlasting life.

ノーブルクラウン – Noble’s Crown
This simple, yet stylish crown is manufactured through goldsmithing and accented with a topaz in the front. For a time, it was very popular amongst the aristocracy, and was said to put one’s mind at ease.

ホーリーブレスト – Holy Breastplate
This breast plate is crafted from mythril and then consecrated. This allows White Mages to equip this plate mail, even though heavy armor for protection of oneself goes against their code of ethics.
