Full name: Vauprebiont Escende Merriette, commonly refered to as "Merri".
Race: Elvaan
Height: 6'8
Age: 39

Description: For an Elvaan, Merri is just a bit shorter than most of his Elvaan peers, though this fact never remotely bothered him. Due to the expectations of a highly-physical career, his body is extremely fit and toned. Merri does not fall short of his Elvaan heritage, and his raw physical strength passes up even that of the Galka, though definantly not their endurance.

Personality: Merri, having grown up alongside the Mithra and Tarutaru, is very playful and mischievous. In battle, he holds a strong and fiery fierceness, and a lust for the hunt, as his Mithran comrades do. At first glance, some might consider him to be more akin to a Corsair or a simply a common Thief.

Noticable features: While hard to discern at first, Merri sports four somewhat faded horizontal markings, two on each cheek. Upon close inspection, one might notice they bear a striking resemblence to Mithran tribal markings.

Background: Vauprebiont was born to two Elvaan "Nobles" within the federation of Windurst. His parents, originally hailing from the Kingdom of San d'Oria, migrated to the federation in their youth after his father was wrongfully stripped of his rank within the Royal Knights, and banished from San d'Oria after a hasty and ignorant decision during a court martial. While initially they were refused entrance to the city, due in part to the long standing hatred between their two nations after hundreds of years of strife, and Merri's father's "Criminal" background, they were eventually granted entrance due to Vauprebiont's mother going into labor.

From then on out, his parents struggled to make a name for themselves within the city. While there were a few Elvaan and Humes living within the city, the majority was comprised of the Tarutaru and Mithra respectively, which was to be expected.

As the years went by, though, the Merriette family grew to be accepted, and Vauprebiont had no issues making friends. The Mithran and Tarutaru found Vauprebiont's name far too difficult to pronounce, and nicknamed him "Merri", to which he did not object. Having grown up amongst the Mithran and Tarutaru, Merri could be considered more like them, than a noble Elvaan.

Witty, cocky, and fierce. Merri quickly made many close friends within the Mithran tribes in the city. His mischievous nature and playfulness made him fit right in with his Mithran and Tarutaru companions. As his Mithran friends came of age and began to go out on hunts with their mothers, Merri become fascinated with the bow, and put it upon himself to learn how to hunt. Hours of daily practice and determination in proving his hunting prowess and skill with the bow quickly gained him respect within the adult Mithran community.

Merri grew into a skillful Archer, but in his young teenage years he came across yet another art that he practiced in his off-time. The art of the Samurai. After having met a traveling Samurai from the Far East, Merri began to live by both the sword, and the bow.

His magical prowess, though very small compared to the Tarutaru's capabilities, was also noted by the community of Tarutaru. He was respected for his efforts in their arts, even though his attempts remained wholely unsuccessful. Some claim to have even seen him speaking with Karaha-Baruha on several occasions, though this wasn't something Merri ever confirmed. These rumors faded upon Karaha-Baruha's disappearance during the Crystal War.

Soon after his nineteenth birthday, the Great War broke out across the western lands. Merri volunteered to join up with the Mithran Mercenaries without second thought, and served through the entire length of the great war. His accuracy with the bow, and skill with the blade soon earned him much renown in Windurst. His skills carried his unit through the heat of battle on more than one occasion, and this gained Merri even more rapport with the Mithran tribes.

He participated in many key battles and campaigns of the great war, including, but not limited to the first and second battles of Windurst, as well as the final assault on Xarcabard. It was after the second battle of Windurst that Merri was accepted into one of Windurst's mithran tribes as one of their own, after having put himself in harms way against all logical odds in order to give wounded mercenaries means to retreat back past the protective barriers of Odin's gate.

In the end, though, Merri survived the Great War, and continued to live on alongside the Mithra and Tarutaru in Windurst.

As the years went by, Merri grew interested in finding out more about his Mother and Father when they had lived in San d'Oria. They had both died during the Crystal War, and had left Merri no connections to any family that might still live in the Kingdom. Though, within his first day in San d'Oria he found the Merriette bloodline by no means sat on his own shoulders.

Merri was introduced to his uncle, and eventually figured out the truth behind his father's banishment from San d'Oria. His father, in secret, had been a Dragoon. One of San d'Oria's famed Dragon Knights. His own Wyvern, though, had been afflicted with the Unholy Sign. As he struggled to find a way to prevent the issue from escalating, he was caught and proclaimed an enemy of the state, due to the dangerous nature of Unholy Wyverns. He was brought to trial for his supposed treason against the Kingdom of San d'Oria, and forever banished.

Before departing with the knowledge of his father's past, his uncle gifted to him his Father's armor and lance, both of which had been in his Uncle's possession since the banishment. It was also at this point that Merri learned his father had originally hailed from the Marquisate of Tavnazia.Vauprebiont
