Hello everyone, I've just transfered from Sylph in order to join your RP LS hopefully. I did transfer from Sylph, but ever since around 2005, I've been server hopping like crazy. My original server, and what I still considered my "home" was Leviathan.

I have been playing FFXI ever since launch in 2003, though it's been off and on ever since around 2006. I've had to take 2 seperate characters to the cap, though only one of them got re-taken to the cap at 99. I have transfered both of my characters over, however, just in case I wanted to RP with my original one too. My (new) main character is my Mithra, Manarii. She has been my mule for years and years and years, and when events happened that kind of forced me to quit my main character, a Hume male, I picked up my Mithra and never looked back. She's 99 now, while my hume is still 75.

I did a lot of endgame when Sky was the new and cool thing, but after that I got too busy with life to have that kind of time, and have had to play the game more casually ever since. So you could say I took a character up to 75 way back before any updates made it easier, then I took another character to 99 after they changed all the stuff to speed up leveling.

As for RP, back in FFXI, I never once got to RP. Honestly I didn't even know what it was called yet. I did want to do it, but I had no idea there were communities of people who got together and did it. It wasn't until years later when I finally decided to do a search on RP and found people doing it in FFXIV, which I had already long since quit at the time. It also happened to be the exact month that they started charging for FFXIV again, which made me decide to check it out, if they had improved the game enough to charge for it again. Well, it was amazing. My first RP experience was awesome, and I played so much. My life doesn't really allow for the kind of freetime you need to play MMOs, especially when you RP too, but I have been making time and doing the best I can ever since.

Not too long ago, just a little while before the FFXIV 1.0 servers shut down, I met Blade in game and learned he ran a RP LS in FFXI. Now, FFXI is still my favorite MMO ever and I've been itching to RP in it ever since I learned how to RP in FFXIV. So here I am, and I'm going to try my best to RP in Vana'diel.

(Oh, right, I guess I should have warned everyone that when I start typing, I get very very wordy.)

Welcome Manari!

I too had a different main character till not too long ago, so I perfectly understand the feeling. It was pretty hard for me to abandon a character with so many jobs at lv75, but with Kenjii being a more enjoyable character to RP, and SE finally allowing to send at least some of the rarest items from one account character's to another, I too decided to move onto him and 'evolve' him from mule to main.

Glad to see you finally get your chance to RP on FFXI. Looking forward to see you in action!!
To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.

"What makes a strong character is how they deal with their flaws, their fears, their turmoils, their troubles that get in the way. That's what makes them relatable." – Doug Walker

Wordiness is something that frequently comes with a good roleplayer. ;)

Glad to see you made the choice to hop on over! Sorry I wasn't able to get on last night to greet you to the linkshell personally… Thursday is the day I work late. I may be able to catch you tonight though but we'll see… still unsure about my RL schedule tonight.

But, I'm eager to catch you in game soon and talk about RP plans! :)
