"Kupu! I have gotten all of the supplies now, Kupu." Moggie fluttered cheerily in front of Aurou, waving a full satchel in the air, as she sat watching people go about their business in the Port.

Aur nodded to the moogle, "Take then back to the rrroom, if you would? I'll be along in a bit."

"Right away, Mistrrress Aurou! Kupu!" Moggie vanished in a poof of her glittery Moogle magic.

She yawned, kicking her feet idley against the low wall that she was sitting on. A gentle breeze picked up behind her over the water, displacing her hair over her eyes. The chitter-chatter of the busy district quieting down momentarily.

Aurou sighed, tucking it back in place as the breeze died back down.

"Oh gods, isn't it beautiful!?" A young Hume woman giggled excitedly, donning a chapeau in front of a group of other adventurers.

Aurou tilted her head curiously, looking the woman over. What's so special about that?

Her hat matched the rest of her garb, and she carried a sword and round shield.

"It's spectacular! You're so lucky, I can't believe you finally got it," one of the friends praised her.

Aur blinked, growing bored of her mental guessing game. Just another yellow-clad adventurer running around Jeuno She huffed, a twinge of self-pity hitting her.

"Lovely night, isn't it?" Romidiant laughed as Aurou nearly fell backwards over the ledge she was on. He held out his hand to help her regain her balance.

"Dont do that! You'rrre trrrying to kill me, I swearrr…" Aur grumbled, her heart racing from the scare.

"You should pay more attention to your surroundings. I've been here for a few minutes already," he chuckled, sitting down next to her.

"You snuck up on me," she made an annoyed face, "What arrre you doing back herrre anyways?"

"I'm fine, thanks for asking." Romi nodded to her, a stern look on his face.

Aur rolled her eyes. "I still think you arrre stalking me."

" Don't flatter yourself, I'm on official business!" He smoothed out his aketon with a grin.

"So they demoted you to letterrr boy?"

"Wha? No!" Romidiant acted offended, "I'm the best there is, of course! Who else could be trusted to deliver such an important document to. . ." he paused, fishing the letter out of his pocket to look it over.

"Some letterrr boy! Don't even know who to give the letterrr to." Aur shook her head in disgust.

Romidiant waved his hand, "I'm just making a trip to the Embassy. My duty for the day. Now then, how have you been? Feeling any better?"

Aurou shrugged, the playful banter over. "I've been well enough."

"Uh huh. The way you were staring at that little Red Mage tells me otherwise."

"Rrred Mage, that was it! Errr.." she sighed.

"So what are you going to do with yourself? Bum around Jeuno envying Red Mages for the rest of your life?" he looked at her sternly, "Have you even left this city or gone home yet?"

Aurou sighed again, "No…"

"No? No what?"

"No I do not plan to stay herrre forrr everrr. No I have not left yet. No I have not gone home yet.. I alrrready know that I'm going back to nothing, why rrrush?"

Romi stood up and crossed his arms, looking down at Aur.

She shrank under his gaze, avoiding eye contact with him now.

"Why won't you go back to your old life? I didn't know you before, but I know that this was not you."

"I'm just… afrrraid, I guess. Because nothing will be the same…" Aurou frowned.

Romidiant's look softened and he rubbed her head lightly, "That's enough now. Of course things change. That's life, nothing ever remains the same. Now you need to grasp what life has thrown at you and move on. Everything happens for a reason, though it may not make sense right away. You're here now, you've been given a second chance. What will you do with it? Just mope and pout?"

She shook her head, "No, you'rrrre rrright." Aurou fell silent, watching the city-goers again.

"Well… I'm glad to hear that. Of course I'm right." The seriousness from his look and voice gave way to his normal joyful demeanor. "Next time I see you you better not be sitting here crying, you got it?"

"Okay.." Aur nodded to him, forcing a smile to her face.

"And if you need anything just give me a call on this," he pulled a plain white pearl from his pocket, "Don't lose it or give it to anyone else." Romi took her hand, pressing the pearl into her palm. "Now I've gotta go deliver this letter! Don't forget what we talked about." The Elvaan raced off before she could protest or ever say goodbye.

Aurou watched Romi leave, tucking the pearl away. I guess I'd better get back to Moggie before she worries…
