Roy dismounted off his Rent-a-bo, and straightened his aketon while walking towards the Merchant's House in Lower Jeuno. Walking past the stables, he spotted a cloaked mithra standing quietly in front of the wall next to the house door.

- C.I.! So you came here, too? - He asked with a blink, approaching her.

The mithra didn't even look back, nor reply. Roy had been told she was strange, so he just proceeded to the next question, hoping he'd be more lucky.

- So how long have you been here, anyway?

- Longer than I have. - said a male voice from behind. The alchemist turned around to see an elvaan man, leaning against one of the many pillars in Lower Jeuno.

- And you are…?

- Hazell Gloss, we have never met I believe. But I do am a member of the Siren's Sword, just as you are. - Introduced himself the silver-haired man, with a slight bow. - Or I should say, a former member…

Roy frowned. - So the news are true…?

The elvaan opened his mouth to speak, but a young, female voice interrupted him, and he turned towards the stairs to look at whoever was coming, with an irritated glare.

- Heeeeyyy! Sorry for the delay! - screamed the mithra white mage, stopping at the top of the stairs and benting down to catch some breath. - Altana, these stupid stairs… This is why I don't live here.

The two men looked at each other, and then Roy greeted her with a nod. - Good day, Miss Ayuki. It's good to see you made it.

- Yeah, I was slowed down by some kid who wanted a ride from San d'Oria and… uh? - The mithra looked around, with a panicked look. - But where is Lord Kenjii?

Roy groaned. Why are the best looking girls always taken?

- He's not here. This meeting has been organized by newer members of the agency. - Explained Hazell. - Kenjii Asgard is probably in Tavnazia with the other seniors right now.

- Whaaa!? - Ayuki's eyes widened in shock. - He's far away from me!? And with that wench!? Rrrrrrr….!

- You shouldn't speak like that about our leader…

- Hey!! Wait up!! - Yet another panting voice. The three turned to look at the boy in scaled armor climbing up the stairs. He tripped on the last step, and fell at Ayuki's feet. - Urgh!

Roy approached him, and helped the young boy get up. - Are you hurt? There was no need of such a rush, boy.

- S-sorry… I had lost sight of Miss Ayuki… and. - The hume spearman looked up at Roy and Hazell, before looking away with a blush from the elvaan man. - I didn't want to get lost again…

- A splendid performance worthy of your hume blood as always, Hakkaii. - said the red mage, crossing arms.

- Oi. - Roy glared at the elvaan. - We are not here to fight, or did you forget?

- Yeah that's right! We're here for Lord Kenjii! Where is this Tavnazia place anyway!? - yelled Ayuki, walking between the three.

Hazell interrupted the staring contest with Roy Mustang, and then looked at the mithra. - We do not know how to get there. That is why I gathered us here. - He pointed at the wall I.C. had been staring at the whole time. Only then the others finally noticed the note hanging in there.

- That is all we have. The family won't tell us anything more. And I feel we shouldn't bother the seniors via linkshell on this matter. From what I can tell, they are busy with greater problems than we can handle. - said the elvaan.

The group approached to look at the note, and then they sighed simultaneously.

- So what do we do…? - asked Hakkaii, looking around. - Is our part in the Siren's Sword already over?

- Like hell if it is!! - growled Ayuki, shaking fists. - I'm not letting my Kenjii go like this! I'll find Tavnazia, even if I had to swim all the way therrre!

- Will you cease your shrieking? Fix your fur and listen to what we have to say. - snapped Hazell, looking down at her.

- Just be glad I can't reach that nose of yours with a punch, you stupid…!

- Now now! - Roy raised his hands to the mithra's face, trying to calm her down. - We're all friends here, Miss.

- Yeah, I can tell. -.-

- Do you have any ideas on how to fix this bad situation? - asked the younger hume, looking at Roy.

The alchemist scratched his head. - Well… The first option that comes to mind is to find Tavnazia and go help Miss Avina and the others, but…

- Yes! Yes! Help Lord Kenjii! I'm up for it!

- …but! - Roy raised his voice slightly to catch the mithra's attention again. - I do believe that is currently beyond our possibilities. At least for the most of us.

- So you suggest we should go and train? Together? - The disgust in the Elvaan's voice was not subtle at all.

Roy huffed. - Well, do you have any better ideas, you punk? -.-

- Ah! And they say Hume's are the brain of Bastok.

That was enough of it. Roy had tried his best to be diplomatic, but when you have to do it, you gotta do it. He would've shoved his fist up that elvaan's mouth. With a handful of poison dust, if necessary…! He'd-

- Polish the blade.

The four stopped, and turned to look at C.I. She had finally turned to look at them. Her gaze was empty as always.

- What? - asked Ayuki, blinking.

- Kill monsters, training and help the people. - Continued the other mithra. A red sparkle from her eye. - Polish the Siren's Blade.

Hakkaii frowned. - I don't think I get it…

- She's right!! - Exclaimed Roy instead, walking over to C.I. and patting her shoulder. - Great idea, C.I.. You've got quite a sharp mind, eh?

- That is confidential information.

- Ha ha! Yes, of course! - Roy turned back to the group, and closed his left fist in a psyched up pose. - You've heard her guys! We must fight for the Siren's Sword!

- But how…? - asked Ayuki. - If they are all the way in Tavnazi..

- Oh, I understand now. - the Elvaan chuckled. - It sure sounds intriguing. I fear this could be a task beyond someone's abilities though.

Hakkaii looked at him, with a frown, and then turned to Roy. - Just tell us what to do.

Roy nodded. - The Siren's Sword is busy somewhere far away, that is true. But we can't just let them do all the work, can we? We must take care of their problem right here!

Ayuki crossed arms. - What problem!?

- Their reputation is at risk! - Roy pointed at the merchant's house behind him. - We can't let our agency lose its fame because of some idiot attacking innocents! We must let the Siren's Sword shine up to the sky!

- That's really fancy words, but I still don't follow…

- He's saying we must do our best to help the people around and have us become famous as do-gooders, you silly feline.

- Hmph! And why should I ever bother to do that!?

Hakkaii looked at her. - Aren't you a white mage?

- So what!?

- It doesn't work with her, Hakkaii. - Roy shook his head and pointed at Ayuki. - Listen up, Miss Ayuki! Do you really want everyone to think Kenjii hangs around with some bad people who gets involved in family assassinations or something!?

- Of course not! I'll scream it to the whole world! Lord Kenjii is not a bad guy! He's the most handsome man in Va-

- Right, right. But the people are deaf to our words! So let our actions speak for us! Isn't that what you meant, C.I.?

- She already left. - Hazell pointed at the mithra walking out of the stables with a chocobo.

- Ah! - Roy started to run as well. - Well I'm not going to let her take all the glory! Come on guys! For the Siren's Sword!!
To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.

"What makes a strong character is how they deal with their flaws, their fears, their turmoils, their troubles that get in the way. That's what makes them relatable." – Doug Walker
