PROFILE

Name: Kjara (ignores her last name, as she lost contacts with her parents when she was around two years old)
Race/Gender/Age: Elvaan woman 33
Born under the star of: Leviathan
Date of Birth: 22th June 854 C.E.
Hair: Red
Eyes: Amber
Nationality: Originary from Aht Urghan, she has been raised in Kazham and currently doesn't have a real home. But right now she works under the Allegiance of San d'Oria and considers that her place to return.
Rank: Now rank 7 in San d'Oria IC.
Jobs and Trades: Dragoon mainly, but her job of 'spy' allowed her to master a bit of every skill in every field to change identity at need (IC I'll take as if she had every job but dragoon being 50 or lower, high enough to be a bit mastered, but yet not enough to attain special abilities or Artifacts to wear).
Is also a fisherman (Khazam trait) and a Notorious Monster Hunter for hire.
Skills: Favorites the Spear, but has also a decent sword skill given by her race and experience in San d'Oria. Also knows some medium tiers of White Magic, but as a Dragoon her magic energy is too low for her to use it frequently.
Particular Traits: An eye patch on her left eye.
Family and friends: Parents (unknown to her, but were two elvaans living in the Empire, an Imperial Guard and a summoner lady), Lotrulien (he saved her life and is the closest to a friend she has), Azure (Her Wyvern)
Favorite Color: Blue
Favorite Festival: No one
Music Theme: Die Another Day (Madonna)
Story: Daughter of an imperial guard and a summoner lady of aht urghan, Kjara had the misfortune to be raised in the quarters of Al Zhabi, constantly clashed by the conflicts with the Far East.

In a particularly violent battle, where the Empire was in the poorest conditions of fighting, her mother brought her to the port and left the baby on a boat. She never managed to go with her, as her duty of a summoner was to protect her homeland to the extreme effort. The boat was untied from the quay, and soon Kjara was alone in the core of a raging storm.

The next morning, the barely survived vessel touched the reefs of Kazham. The few mithras left there to protect the village from the jungle found Kjara and took her to their homes.

After giving her some of their food, the feline women gathered to decide what to do with the baby. The shadows of the Crystal War had reached the island of Elshimo too, and many proud warriors had left for the mainlands to give a hand as mercenaries. The few women left didn't have the time nor the strength to take care of an elvaan child.

However, mithras were amazed at how Kjara could live through the rage of the seas, and some believed it was the will of the Serpent Guardian, Leviathan, that brought her to them.

Thanks to this small, and probably absurd belief, Kjara was given a chance and kept in Kazham, where she was raised as a spearman hunter. Trained by the mithras, she raised an higher agility and dexterity with her weapon than elvaans normally have. She was able to run through the jungle without getting lost, and performing high jumps between the giant trees of Elshimo. Living out in the wilderness, she developed a sense of detecting the prey and hunting it successfully. Far from the war, she grew up into a proud savage warrior.

It was some years after the defeat of the Shadow Lord that Kjara started to develop some interest for the far continents of Quon and Mindartia. Enchanted by the tales of the survived mercenaries that had arrived to Kazham (like Romaa Migho), she met with the chieftainness and informed her she was leaving to become an adventurer.

Jakoh Wahcondalo knew Kjara was aware of the rule of Kazham. If you were leaving the village, then you were a member of the village no more. Kjara silently nodded, and that night made her small packages to then leave with the first airship. In her heart there was a lot of fear and sadness, but also pride and determination despite her young age.

For some time she worked and lived in Jeuno. The 'center of the world' was the perfect place for her to learn quickly about every side of the two continents. Although she wasn't a merchant and had pretty much no knowledge into the arts of trades, she could offer her fighting skills to help to hold on the monsters that lurked around the Duchy. The monsters there were weaker compared to what she had to face in the wild jungles, and so Kjara quickly earned herself some popularity among the grateful merchants, who had no longer to fear about beastmen ambushes in the outskirts.

A fateful day though, the now nineteen Kjara was asked to eradicate a particular monster in the Crawler's Nest, who had attacked many adventurers and young soldiers in training there. Demoniac Tiphia, the giant bee, was way more than an even match to the young warrior. The fight lasted for a very long time, and right when Kjara was too weakened to dodge that painful stinger, Tiphia decided to perform her final attack, to get rid forever of that girl threatening her larvaes. The sting hit Kjara in the face, and knocked her out instantly. She fell on the ground, with the corpse of the monster next to her.

She would've quickly been turned into crawlers food, if it wasn't for a young friar who in that instant was walking by, looking for one of the many artifacts that were hidden in the dungeon. With his advanced healing magic, Lotrulien saved Kjara's life… but there was no more hope for her left eye. When Kjara woke up, her sight was halved and with that her fighting skill and only way to make a living in that dangerous world, who had suddenly revealed nastier than the Elshimo threats to her.

What was left for her to do now? Without an eye, and Kazham no longer her home, Kjara was lost and hopeless.
Saddened at that sight, the young friar decided to bring her to San d'Oria, and offer her a house where to live until she would find again her faith in her strength.

For some months, Kjara worked for the cathedral, helping the friars performing delivery jobs and other small things. In the meantime, Lotrulien taught her some white magic, despite Kjara's low understanding of it. She never learned it to the point of mastering, but it was enough to keep herself alive in the worse cases.

Her quests through San d'Oria quickly taught her a lot about the Kingdom and the people who lived there. Kjara started to gather information, maybe too much information for a single person, and that led her to dangerous events.. Such as meeting Cyranuce, a man interested in dragons, the ancient race of wyrms that used to fight along Altana's race in the dark times. Under request of Cyranuce, Kjara found a lost wyvern egg in the depths of Shakrami, that eventually hatched into a young baby dragon. At that point, Cyranuce revealed his intentions of gaining the power of wyrms and slayed the wyvern, who fell on the ground gravely wounded.

With the help of the knight Rahal and Lotrulien, Kjara managed to save the wyvern's life, but there were still issues to be solved. After a hard fight, that saw Kjara facing a full grown wyvern in the Ghelsba Outpost, Cyranuce's attempt to be a powerful dragon was hampered.

It was then with great surprise that Kjara realized she had been bestowed of the Holy Crest along with the little wyvern she had saved. Rahal asked her to adopt it and suddenly Kjara had a new friend, a brother who could see for her where she couldn't anymore. A new eye and a new friend. Her strength was back and renewed in the form of a Dragoon.

This was probably the golden period for Kjara. As a Dragoon, she was able to undertake much harder quests and her wyvern Azure never let her down. Its healing powers would keep her alive against the most powerful enemies and her spear would strike down any foe attempting at her wyvern's life. She was 25 when everything changed.

The quests in the royal castle brought Kjara to learn things no San d'Orian should ever know, and a terrible day, she found out the crest on her wyvern had been cursed. Rahal did warn her about that risk, and in her dragoon career Kjara had chance to learn about the other Dragoon Knights, who had failed before her in the attempt to heal the curse, eventually forced to kill their own wyverns, who had turned into foul beasts.

Kjara begged for the curse to be removed, but it was all in vain. San d'Oria had inflicted on her its silent punishment for knowing too much. At that point, Kjara had nothing left to do. Leaving Lotrulien, who she had secretly fell in love for, she left the Kingdom and started to wander around Vana'diel, seeking for a cure and making a living as a Notorious Monster hunter.

She made herself a mercenary, and instead of money would often ask for information as a reward. Information people would usually not let slip out. This made her very feared and often hated in all the nations. But after all, Kjara seemed very good at putting her nose into things people didn't want her to, so why not take advantage out of it?

A year later, in Bastok, Kjara ran into two brothers who were working for the Tenshodo. Zenji, the older, was muted by some terrible trauma, and Kjara was determined to find out about it. At that point, anything could've led her to the answer she was seeking.

Kenjii though, the younger brother, never trusted her fully. He was very reluctant to have an elvaan around, especially one with that look…!

After some time, of course, Kjara found out the truth about the two… and the Asgard family, who had been considered lost during the War. With the help of Zenji, she made her way through the Castle of Zvahl, seeking for the truth, despite it had revealed to be not useful to her cause.
Looking for any sign of Mathias Asgard's death, determined to help the two boys she had started to care so much for…

It was then that Kjara assisted to the break between the two brothers. Kenjii had investigated on her through the Tenshodo, and found out her real identity. He had ran to the castle, and had found her and Zenji. Angry at them for lieing about her intentions and identity, Kenjii won't let the two walk any further in those cursed places, and ordered Zenji to leave immediately with him, before the cursed wyvern attacked them.

Zenji refused, angry at the brother who only was too stubborn to accept that the father he hated so much could've actually died to protect them, just like their mother. When Kjara casted the spell to teleport herself out of there, he walked to her and disappeared with her, in front of Kenjii's eyes. He never returned to Bastok to meet him again.

Upset by what she had caused, Kjara accepted Zenji as her fellow, and with him traveled once again across all the lands, seeking for a cure, and now, an answer too. And she kept doing it for a few more years.
Until the day she ran into Avina, Daltan and Zetireti in Jeuno.

Personality: Kjara is usually quiet, she doesn't talk much and is occasionally withdrawn from the group. She is pained by the curse on her wyvern who may get worse any day and force her to kill him. She seeks the power to heal him from the curse.

She is very loyal to her friends and very caring, but she is afraid to get really close to people in fear that they too will be suffering staying with her. She is very close to her wyvern and worries about him alot. Even though he might someday hurt her and kill her friends when the curse will be to its full power she shows no anger towards him. She often thinks about him.

Kjara is pretty easygoing and will usually go along with what the group does. She is close to Avina and Zenji. She befriended Zenji pretty quickly, to the point that he decided to leave his hometown (and his brother Kenjii) to follow her.

Kjara also has a tiny bit of a temper towards certain people, and a big one towards others. If you anger her it is best to run. As I said she is very loyal to her friends and fights very hard to ensure their safety, but she fears that she will someday betray them, under certain circumstances.

She doesn't want to betray them, but she admitted to herself that it might happen. Kjara also stands up for herself very well. She is a tomboy, not a helpless girl who can't fight. Although she does let her girly side come out when she is around Lotrulien.

Kjara is a tragic heroine type, and is a devastatingly skilled, albeit slow, spearman. This lady hunter isn't very "ladylike", but her strength in battle more than makes up for her faults. Seems hard to approach at first, but in reality this female spearman is caring and protective.

Likes: Peaceful places, nice sightseeings, and Lotrulien XD
Dislikes: Ghosts, dark places, towns that don't allow wyvern access.

To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.

KJARA'S STORY SO FAR

Kjara joins Avina, Zetireti and Daltan in their mission to rescue the Bastokan ambassador in the Delkfutt's Tower as a guide, after accidentally hearing them talking about the Northern Dragon they had killed in Giddeus and wanting to learn more out of them.

*******

After proving herself worthy as a companion, she goes with them to Windurst, carefully avoiding the Windurst Walls fearing to be detected by the Sybil Guards who are wanting her as about every nation now for her spying.

In Windurst, she investigates on her own about the Horutoto Ruins and lastly Giddeus itself, where she is assaulted by numerous Yagudos, and Azure is injuried to protect her.

Raged and seeking revenge, she prepares herself for yet another assault but is stopped by Avina and her friends, who showing care for the girl insist that she leaves the Yagudo be for now, as one more attack may endanger the already unstable treaty of peace between Windurst and the Yagudos.

*******

After making sure the situation with the Yagudo was stable, Avina and Zetireti decide to go to San d'Oria to find Daltan, who had left them in a sudden way.

With no more useful leads from them, Kjara is back on her own and goes to Jeuno to see how her wyvern is doing. In the city she randomly walks into Avina, who accompanies her to eradicate the Golbin Wolfman out of the Movalpolos under request of the Goblin Shop in Jeuno.

Seeing how darkness is devouring the hume girl, Kjara realizes that for the first time she cares about someone other than herself, her wyvern, and Lotrulien. She doesn't like that feeling, as she's afraid that having friends may endanger people if Azure were to turn into a wild wyvern.

*******

After seeing how Azure has healed back in shape she decides to go back with Avina to her home San d'Oria, where she meets Lotrulien after three years. She's happy to see the man is still in town waiting for her to return, but her business with the Kingdom are still left open and neither her or the royal family can forget.

Staying there though she and Avina's group have the chance to meet an elvaan man named Rochefogne, who is investigating about the late queen's death. Kjara, intrigued by this suspicious figure, begs Lotrulien to put a good word for her in the Chateau to allow her access within its walls once again.

Aware of the danger this may put the man in, she promises that any information she may learn in there she will not use to hurt the Kingdom. It was indeed investigating about the queen's death that Kjara had gotten the curse casted on her wyvern, and something tells her the answer to the cure might be involved in this mystery.

As if that wasn't enough, Kjara overhears a suspicious comment by approaching the Papsque Shamonde, who was angry at Avina and her party for rescuing a child who had been held captive by the Orcs in the Ghelsba Outpost. Once again San d'Oria's secrets seem to be darker than she had thought.

*******

Meanwhile, Avina's group breaks and the adventurers scatter around. Because of this Kjara says goodbye to Avina and stays in San d'Oria to find out more. Later on, she investigates Davoi looking for Rochefogne, and walks in a Wall of Dark Arts.

As she sees Avina (back with her friends) coming in seeking Magicite, she follows and finally learns about the possible Shadow Lord's return.

Kjara isn't really concerned about it, as she doesn't believe much of it. Also, her often random encounters with Avina and the others irritate her, as she's trying to not let affection get to her and to not put them in danger.

She teleports away and back to San d'Oria only to find out it has been attacked by the beastmen and that the seal the Kingdom kept on the Shadow Lord had been stolen. The Kingdom then pressures her (as one of the most sacrificable people) to go to Fei'Yin to investigate on the seal kept in there.

Kjara gets rid of her escort easily, but once again she runs into Avina, Zetireti, Obtili and the others sent there by their countries for the same reason. Reluctantly, Kjara goes with them in the dept of the ancient Zilart ruins, where they find out the last Seal is broken.

Zeid though tells them that the Shadow Lord is dead and that the rumor of his return is nothing but a lie.
That is enough for Kjara. Tired of following a clueless research that doesn't seem to be helping her cause, and not wanting to hang out with those adventurers any more, she reveals herself to them as a spy, avoiding of course to explain her reasons, and leaves them again returning her linkpearl. She would prefer be hated by them than put them in danger with her curse.

As the days pass though Kjara becomes more nervous and concerned. Her time in San d'Oria seem to give her no more information about Rochefogne and the sword he's seeking, nor is she managing to approach the Papsque any more.

Lotrulien sees in her heart what is haunting her and convinces her to follow her emotions before it's too late. With newfound faith Kjara departs once again from the Kingdom and runs in Avina's aid, stopping the waves of demons in the Castle Zvhal and holding them, allowing the adventurers to reach the Throne Room and defeat the Shadow Lord once for all.

She is almost overwhelmed by the endless enemies when Zenji finally arrives to help her. The three manage to hide in the castle and later escape. It is then that they have the vision of Raogrimm's ghost. The dead swordman explains them about how he did become the Shadow Lord, and that the risk of his dark entity to rise again is not hampered.

And so Kjara learns about Dynamis, along with other adventurers who happened to be in Xarcabard at the moment the vision had place. The group decides to investigate on this new world, some driven by the sense of justice, some others seeking an adventure.

Kjara wants to go because she's sorry she didn't believe Avina about the Shadow Lord's return and didn't want to pressure her with another fight once more. The adventurers spread voice about Dynamis and soon form a Linkshell alliance to take down the endless waves of beastmen in those dark places.

This becomes Kjara's activity of redemption for many weeks, until she finds in the spoils an old, rusty ancient spear. Rumors between the adventurers say it once belonged to the Hydra Corps, and that these weapons may have a will of their own if awakened. Finally, a new ray of hope is rising on Kjara's dark path.

With the intention to revive the ancient spear Gungnir and question it about the unholy brand, she travels to Xarcabard and that's where she runs in Daltan.

The elvaan had long departed from Avina's group to train and had just witnessed himself Raogrimm's vision. Concerned about the new Dynamis threat, he joins Kjara and her linkshell of adventurers to fight the vanguard hordes.

Kenjii's parts were moved to a specific thread as he became a main character now.
