I'm new to the server, and returning after a three and-a-half year break. I started on (don't judge!) Asura back in '04. Towards the end of my time there, I was involved in several of their RPLS's. A change in jobs and with how the game used to play, I ended up not having any time to play and switched to a more casual-friendly game.
… Lots of things can be said about Warcraft, but I will say that the server I landed on had a very good RP community, and I learned a lot from them during my stay. In the end, though, the Warcraft universe could only keep my attention so long, and my account was left to lapse.
My husband came across an article about the changes that Abyssea was bringing, and we got excited at what we saw. We started doing research on jobs, gear, and servers (since we decided that we really didn't want to return to Asura), and when I was coming up with nothing for servers and linkshells, a friend who returned to the game with us took over the search and he found you guys.
And that's how I ended up here.
Watching y'all last night, I realize that I'm used to a -very- different RP style… so please, bear with me while I learn the ropes. Also, I'm a big fan of spontaneous walk-up RP, so if you see me wandering around feel free to approach me in-character. I do have an "OOC-mode" that's pretty hard to miss (which I'll make a note about when I finish my character bio), but even then if I'm approached the right way and I'm in the mood, I might be willing to RP briefly.
"How hard did you hit him?" "Quite hard, actually. For some reason he irritated me." They stared back to where the Grolim lay. "You're getting to be more like Belgarath every day," Silk told him. "You do more damage out of simple irritation than most men can do in a towering rage."
welcome draenen ^^ I hope you liked what you saw in our RP shell!!
To be an interesting, intriguing, well-written character, there needs to be something to allow the audience to relate to them. That is what the problem is with who wants their character to be "perfect". Perfect characters will never be strong, and strong characters will never be perfect, because WE (those who read, who watch, who RP) are not perfect.
"What makes a strong character is how they deal with their flaws, their fears, their turmoils, their troubles that get in the way. That's what makes them relatable." – Doug Walker
