As the adventurers begin making their final preparations to assault on Tu'lia, Cire discovers the locations of the last two Gods he must awaken in order to fulfill Carbuncle's request. Coming across Kaolla near Mhaura, he invites her along for the trip.
Meanwhile, in Bastok, Avina listens suspiciously over the group's linkpearl, interested in the battles that would take place against the sleeping Gods. Her Scythe of Trials–her key to unlocking a new weapon technique–could only been uncursed by participating in difficult battles… and so she would give it such battles. Pulling Kenjii along with her, the two of them arrived in Mhaura.
Finding themselves in the Sanctuary of Zi'tah, the four of them explore its depths, a tree so large that it contains its own world… battling past Korrigans and Elder Goobbues, they arrive at the Cloister of Storms and enter to defeat Ramuh and are met with success. After returning to the Rhinostery researcher, with Cire now possessing the ability to summon Ramuh, they make their way to Kazham, and then, to Ifrit's Cauldron. After navigating through the Cauldron, they find their way to the Cloister of Flames, and defeat Ifrit.
After the battle, the group splits off to work on their own training, while Cire hangs behind to question Kaolla about her past…
