Names - Most goblin names are made up of nonsense words (to us) prefixed or followed by a description or title. Ex: Bloodthirster Madkix. There are of course exceptions to this rule. Most examples of that are nondescriptive portions of the name being an actual second descriptive title. Ex: Goblinsavior Heronox (note the title of "hero"). In fact, a goblin's name is easily picked out among a vague list just by observing these rules. Another note on names includes the endings "-ix" and "-ox". These are actually the gender indentifiers in their names. Males' names end in "-ix" while female names end in "-ox".
Social Structure - An intriguing fact about the goblin race is their societal functions. They have no king, no governors, no government to speak of. Instead they all are members of one or more guilds throughout the world. And there are as many goblin guilds as there are items in a gobbiebag (for the literal-minded: this is a joke of sorts as there is most likely far more or slightly less than 70 guilds). There are of course guildmasters, though these are hidden from the public eye and serve their members just as their members serve the guild. It is nearly impossible to ascertain which guild any given goblin is part of (possible exceptions to this are the very real possibilities of Digging, Fishing, Furriers, Poaching, maybe even Ambushing). A goblin is able to communicate with his or her guild(s) through the linkpearl inserted surgically in the back of their necks at birth. More advanced then the linkpearls typically used, these have multiple frequencies that are tuned into by thought. Most of these frequencies are too high or too low for other intelligent races to pick up on.
There is an offshoot race of the Goblin known as the Moblin. Less apt to develop the wanderlust of their cousins, Moblins almost never leave their city of Movalpolos (the exceptions to this are the Moblins that joined the Forlorn Vanguard in the height of the Crystal War). Moblins have been recognized to be incredibly intelligent. Their knowledge of mechanics, alchemy, ballistics, biology, and numerous other fields matches or exceeds that possessed by many civilized nations.
Religion: This mostly pertains to the Moblin culture but most likely applies to Goblins as well. Moblins worship a divinity known in their circles as "the iron giant bathed in light". What this divinity may be is currently unknown though the description matches closely that of the Alexander worshipped in the Near East. Alexander was the supposed ancient savior of the Aht Urghan Empire centuries ago and the Celestial avatar of Light (being the counterpoint to Carbuncle, Terrestial avatar of Light). At some point in their history though, the Moblins came across an ancient Zilartian statue of the Twilight God Promathia. Confusing this for their "iron giant", the Moblins eventually came to worship Promathia exclusively. This has led to seek out conflict with the races of Altana as Promathia supposedly decreed as the Beastmen's purpose for existence. Much time and effort will have to be spent on convincing the Moblins that they are mistaken and end the conflict with them.Obi
